Veho Group minskar koldioxidutsläppen med 28% från tidigare år och siktar på koldioxidneutralitet 2025. Ett mål vi närmar oss och gör allt för att klara.

Under 2022 minskade Veho koncernens totala koldioxidavtryck med hela 28 % jämfört med 2021, vilket motsvarar 8017 ton CO2e. Genom att noga övervaka och identifiera åtgärder med störst potential för utsläppsminskning har vi minskat vårt koldioxidavtryck betydligt och tagit ett stort steg mot att bli koldioxidneutrala. Det innebär att Veho-koncernen följt sin vägkarta och genomfört konkreta åtgärder för att minska våra utsläpp i alla fem Veho-länder. Vi utvärderar vårt koldioxidavtryck för vår egen verksamhet genom två kategorier: (1) fordonsutsläpp och (2) energianvändning på anläggningarna.

Minskningen berodde på en rad olika åtgärder. I början av 2022 bytte Vehos fastigheter i Litauen helt till förnybar el, och samma sak hände i Vehos estländska fastigheter förra augusti. Förnybar el har använts i Vehos fastigheter i Finland sedan 2019. Sammantaget har övergången till förnybara energikällor resulterat i att koldioxidavtrycket för Veho Groups fastigheter minskade med totalt 42 procent från 2021 års nivå. Dessutom har fastigheternas energieffektivitet ökat på alla marknader, till exempel genom optimering av belysning och uppvärmning samt genom att utnyttja automation av underhållsfunktioner.

Vi är även glada över att kunna meddela en positiv utveckling inom våra anläggningar här i Sverige, där vi har fortsatt övergången till förnybara energikällor och bytt till helt förnybar uppvärmning och el på flera svenska anläggningar under året. Vilket resulterat i en minskning på 86 ton CO2e jämfört med 2021.

Årets utmaning har varit att minska våra fordonsutsläpp. Mycket på grund av den globala affärsmiljön som lider av post-covid logistikproblem och relaterade implikationer från Rysslands aggression. Trots det har vi lyckats minska våra fordons koldioxidavtryck, och inom hela Veho Group har en minskning med 7% skett jämfört med 2021. Där Sveriges minskning motsvarar 367 ton CO2e.

Veho Group satte ambitiösa koldioxidneutralitetsmål 2022. Målen förpliktade hela koncernen att bli koldioxidneutral inom den egna verksamheten 2025. Veho Finland siktar på att nå detta mål redan under 2023 och är därmed den första aktören inom fordonsindustrin som åtar sig koldioxidneutralitet inom denna tidsram.

En stark företagskultur gör det möjligt för Veho att nå ansvarsmålen
Medarbetarnas välbefinnande och en arbetsmiljö som uppfattas som öppen och rättvis är bland de viktigaste indikatorerna för socialt ansvarstagande på Veho. Det kontinuerliga fokuset på en bra företagskultur belönades 2022 med certifikatet Great Place to Work® (GPTW). För första gången tilldelades den till alla Veho verksamhetsländer: Sverige, Finland, Estland, Lettland och Litauen. Veho Group nears ambitious carbon neutrality goals at a good pace 

The carbon footprint of Veho Group’s properties decreased significantly last year, by a total of 42 percent from the 2021 level. The reduction was caused by a wide range of measures in different Veho countries. At the beginning of 2022, Veho’s properties in Lithuania switched entirely to renewable electricity, and the same happened in Veho’s Estonian properties last August. Renewable electricity has been used in Veho properties in Finland since 2019. In addition, the properties’ energy efficiency has been increased in all markets, for example by optimizing lighting and heating and by utilizing the automation of maintenance functions. 

All this, and much more information, can be found in the Veho Group Sustainability Report, published on May 9, 2023. It compiles the goals and measures of the group’s responsibility work in five countries from three perspectives: environmental responsibility, social responsibility, and good governance.

Strong corporate culture enables Veho to reach responsibility goals 

Veho Group set ambitious carbon neutrality goals in 2022. The goals committed the entire group to becoming carbon neutral within its own operations in 2025. Veho Finland aims to reach this goal already during 2023. Veho is the first automotive industry player to commit to carbon neutrality within this timeframe. 

At Veho, environmental responsibility is about more than energy saving and renewable energy sources. It also includes, for instance, efficient recycling of waste and investing in the electrification of Veho’s vehicle fleet, including employee and demo cars.  

The well-being of employees and a work atmosphere that is perceived as open and fair are among the most important indicators of social responsibility at Veho. The continuous focus on a good company culture was rewarded in 2022 with the Great Place to Work® (GPTW) certificate. For the first time, it was awarded to all Veho operating countries: Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Veho Bil in Sweden was recognized as the best employer in the field.
